About me
I am a psychotherapist, counsellor and yoga teacher based in Exeter, Devon, offering talk therapy for anyone who's finding life a struggle at the moment. For me, both therapy and yoga are about finding our way home - to a steady feeling of confidence and ease in ourselves, even when the waters around us are rough.
Over the last 15 years, I have devoted my practice, studies and
reflection to broadening my awareness, noticing when I'm off-centre
and learning how to navigate my way back to the eye of the storm - the calm in the chaos - time and again. It's a process of staying
curious, listening openly and responding with compassion to whatever gets stirred up.
Therapy, movement and meditation, are the methods I've found most helpful to cultivate the spaciousness and courage to sit with discomfort. I’ve developed deeper, more fruitful connections and discovered new strengths with which to unpick old, unhelpful storylines.
This is not to say that everyday is sunshine and roses - life is full of surprises! But feeling inwardly anchored means I can ride the ebb and flow with a clear sense of direction while staying open to the glint of new possibilities just over the horizon.
Working with me
I work psychodynamically which means we will get curious about your internal world as well as what’s going on around you in your life. We’ll look at what’s happened in the past in order to shed light on what’s happening for you in the present, and we’ll pay attention to unintentional habits that might be holding you back from living the way you want to live.
Together we will create a space in which you feel seen, heard and safe to explore and express yourself. We will think about how you adapted to the world around you as you were growing and how those adaptations affect the way you feel about yourself now, and how you relate to the people and events in your life. Feelings that have been pushed down or cut off because they were too big to deal with at the time might come up and we will work through them together.
Connecting with your internal experience allows you to get to know yourself better. Sometimes this involves meeting emotional parts of yourself that you might be less familiar with, which can be challenging. I am here to help you meet these challenges with compassion, and through acceptance of yourself as you are, to create the opportunity for growth and change.
Message me to arrange a free introductory session to talk through what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Following this, if you choose to proceed with regular sessions we would discuss how many sessions would be appropriate. I offer weekly, 50 minute sessions, either on a short-term (minimum 12 sessions), or open ended basis.
We can either meet face-to-face in my comfortable therapy room in central Exeter or online. My rate is £65 per session.

Getting started
Message me to set up a free introductory online meeting. This gives us a chance to get a feel for what it would be like to work together and we can take it from there.
